GreenPower at LCHS

This is our progress as we go.

Day 0

Team Selections

On the first day, the approximately 60 people who signed up were invited into a hall to participate in challenges. Only around 25 people signed up and we all competed in three challenges. These were not to determine who was going to participate but just a little bit of fun. We split up into teams of four to do these challenges.

Day 1

We were assigned our roles and we got to know each other. The engineers opened the boxes and started building the car.

Day 2

The branding and marketing team moved to a computer room and we chose what our colours should be and we made a prototype for the logo.

Day 3

We expanded on the logo and we also had some engineers looking into transport for us and the car.

Day 4

We continued to create prototypes for the logo. We eventually decided on 3 prototypes. These were to be voted on in our Microsoft Teams channel.

Day 5

The marketing team started some work on the car so they had contributed. We accidentally put the wheels on before the brakes so the next team fixed it for us.

Day 6

The marketing team moved to a computer room again to make progress on the website that was being coded by James and the rest of the team talked about ways of fundraising that can be found on the fundraising page.

Day 7

The marketing team continued to work on the fundraisers, the website was still being made and we had 3 logos that we voted on.

Day 8

We got to choose what we were working on this day. We could choose body design or engineering. We chose body work because this was more important as we have less time to complete it.

Day 9

Most people were working on the car at this point however the marketing team along with body designer to make accurate cardboard cutouts of the car. We will eventually send this to a company to cut out of metal.

Day 10

We were more split up on this day. Two of us went to a computer room and the remaining people were split up into body work and engineering.

Day 11

Two people went to do the website and then one half went to work on the actual car gears and then the other half went to do body work.

Day 12

We have done the panels digitally and soon will send them to our sponsor Dynex. We just continued with our roles like writing and building. We started to work on our presentation and the structure of it like who will be speaking and when.

Day 13

We are all working on our own parts of our roles. We will be planning on testing the gears and record it on camara. Today is just a day where we focusing on the work as quick as we can.

Day 14

We discussed, briefly, the schedule for the day of the race. We had to change schedule slightly because our first 2 race options were not viable. We are now changing our race to be a 2 hour drive away. We were also measured for an outfit that we were planning on purchasing for all of us.

Day 15

We made designs for our new outfits after discovering that the old ones we were going to purchase became even more expensive. We made designs for polo shirts and we started design of trousers. We decided on cargo trousers.
